A Mystic Island

Shorelines Other

I participated in the workshop run for Shorelines walk, listen, create by Andrew Stuck and El Rhodes. As a result of the work shop I have created my first Haiku poems, split into 5 separate poems of the 5,7,5 Haiku pattern.

Part One
A mystic island.
Visits are time limited.
Traverse Devils Bridge.
Part Two
Wild place for nature.
Razorbills, guillemots, choughs.
Seals, bass, squid, and crabs.
Part Three
Ocean’s hiss and boom.
Tide turned, you cannot swim back.
Marooned at Blow Hole.
Part Four
Rip tide will drown me.
Coastguard two hundred years old.
Rescued by throwline.
Part Five
Rhossili ships wrecked.
Beached Helvetia wooden spars.
Samuel’s anchor held.
