Campbell Park

CC-BY-NC: Jakub Rokita

The stage was once a blank canvas.
It was waiting to be filled with vibrant pools of colour.

Now the stage shines with a fluorescent glow,
Dew-kissed grass spreads along the land,
A velvet blanket bringing warmth to all.

Paths, long and wide:
They invite you with open arms.
Welcoming you and not demanding applause.

Conversations find their rhythm,
Infectious, melodic laughter echoes in the distance,
Like sweet birds humming their chorus.

Children, families, are lying under the warm Campbell sun,
Their giggles sinking into the grass as the pyramid of light hovers above,
Blending into the crunch of ember-red leaves.

As I walk along the path under the trees’ magnolia blooms,
Every step I take creates a memory.
Petals fall from trees and touch my collar; a sweet scent fills my nose.

Campbell will always glow,
The grass will always glisten.
I treasure each memory I’ve made,
Holding each one with wisdom.
