CC-BY-NC: Leanne Wicks Walking beside the Cudgegong River in Rylstone, NSW, Australia is always exciting for a chance to see the elusive platypus. The Dabee people of the Wiradjuri nation have walked this place since time began. I have heard stories about ‘Queen’ Peggy, Dabee woman, who would walk the banks of the river in the early 1800’s.
