The Sea

Shorelines Other

The water washes over my feet, as the tide wipes my tears while the clouds hold me tight. I am bracing, breathing, and thinking of our baby. I wanted to enter the sea to finish off the edge of this grief. But the sea calms the inner turmoil, the movement of the sea shows this moment will not last forever, it too will flow on. I throw the shell into the water thinking of her and cry breathing into the air as the radiant sun warms me. The sea like my emotions were in turmoil but are becoming calm and will be able to flow one day again.
